(The scribly looking stuffs is the hollow aspect of the guitar.) Basic Plan.......It may be a Neck-Thru or Bolt on as in the pic. Semi Hollow King V Bill Lawrence XL500L in the bridge. Tom Bridge with String-Thru Head stock shape may be but is not limited to being a Jackson standard pointy head stock I'm not much of a fan of Vees's with reverse headstocks. Woods will be a nice flame maple for the cap and maybe a nice saple for the bottom or a alderchucnk that will be painted black to bring your eyes to the Maple instead. So if anyone has any ideas they would like to add I'm all ears.

I find for how I play i really don't need the abillity to change tone expecially when the rig i'm playing on blows chunks and really has no tone to begin with.

Yeah I decided it would be best with one F hole it looks cleaner.......BTW should i do the binding or just make the edges a little rounded.....but If i practice at it I'll do the binding..... I'm still thinking a neck tru is gonna be my best bet for neck comfort.

I would do black binding, a off white or white wouldnt look right imo

Well I've got a dremel and i can get my hands on a regular router which is what I'm gonna use for the hollow aspect. I'm also Thinking maybe of not doing binding ( Its my first expencive build and want not to take risks) but maybe a gold leaf trim around the body instead........Green and Gold is a very classy color combo.
How thick should I make the top cap......just a thin slab of curly maple for the top and then a fat chunk of Mahogany for the body?
Top around 5/8ths maybe? Or a little bigger.

Guys i was thinking Should I go 7 string on this mother........I don't know if i would like a 7 though any one have hands on experience with a 7 string and how was it compared to a standard 6 string?

I'd do a full on maple cap (1/2")

Well i'm not quite sure how to do the hollow body quite yet. I mean the theriory is relitively easy but doing the hollowing should I route the top and bottom or just do the bottom and then cap it?.........I'm confused.
But 1/2" sounds like a good idea to me. Can you give me any insite to this Bobby?

well, the way i've been taught to do a hollowbody, is take a piece of wood, about 5/4" (since your using a 1/2" cap, so its 1.75" total) then route out all of it, leaving 3/8" at least on the sides, and underneath. you could prob drill most of it out, using a drill stop so you don't go to far, then clean it up with a router.

I'll probly just make a chamber template out of MDF and then use a straight cutting router bit with bering to route out what i need routed out done to top and bottom cause while I have plenty of tools they are all auto motive tools and have little to no wood uses......... But If I don't get a job soon and end up starting this project I'll buy some wood chisles and carve the chamber by hand if I have to........which could be nice.
Edit: I'm definatly doing the body shit though I don't want too think a body it feels bulky and I don't want to thin a body to where it dosn't ring the way semis ring. I'm thinking a striped saple or mahogany.........The Mahogany with a stripe idea came from seen the back of my friends taylor........its so purty.
