i love blues and jazz, but i know little to nothing about it. and aparently my school has a bunch of CDs of blues, jazz, classical, all that stuff. what should i look for first?

the allman brothers, gov't mule, hendrix, bb king, chuck berry, derek trucks, etc.
btw if ur learning to play the blues, learn the minor pentatonic scale. now.

Learn all 5 modes of the minor pentatonic for blues, and it can translate well into Jazz. Learn some Jazz standards, and start learning some modes. If you get to that point, you may as well start your own progressions and start learning common Jazz progressions, and solo styles for each chord change. www.jazzguitar.be is a great site to start with. I recieve weekly emails from their site I may love metal, But Jazz is just as sick
