I like Dime because he was always true to himself. He used the gear he liked even though most people didn't think it was that good (Dean Guitars & SS amps). Some people hate his tone but when you hear it you know it's him. And he was one of the coolest people you could ever meet. He was one of a kind.

true, plus you cant deny, he could play like a mother fu**er. you might not like his tone, but he was the greatest guitarist to come onto the scene in the 90's. you dont even have to think he's the best, but if you can appreciate what he did then its all good on here.

I'll just say that he had a very unique songwriting technique. I agree that Pantera were one of the best metal bands of the 90's, but in my honest opinion, he was nowhere near the best guitarist. He had very good technique, and some significant metal riffs, but I don't see him as the best. There were many better guitarists in that age, both musically and technically. I'll leave you guys to do your thing.

i still gotta pick up new found power, havent gotten around to it. still missing vulgar display of power and far beyond driven. to goliath, i disagree but hell, i knew a lot of people would basically say that. that's what i get for making an opinionated thread.

Nothing against him, I just dont want any threads saying so and so, or this band is the best, leads to flaming, etc

cowboys from hell was a great album, reinventing the steel.. not so much, mainly because the words were just subpar
